Voice
The voice attribute is the voice the Non-Avatar Chatbot will use during speech. It is in the format of “provider:voice”.
Provider: openai
OpenAI provides a set of Custom Voices which can be used in this field eg: “openai:onyx”, “openai:sage” etc. These Custom Voices are synthesised dynamically thus you may notice a slight delay when using them.
Browser Voices
A Browser voice can be used in this attribute however the user’s browser also needs to support it otherwise the user’s default browser voice is used.
Available voices vary by browser and system. Examples that may work include:
- “google:Google US English” (Chrome)
- “google:Google UK English Male” (Chrome on Windows)
- “google:Google italiano” (Italian voice)
- “microsoft:Microsoft Zira” (Edge on Windows)
- “macos:Alex” (Safari on macOS)
Unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be a definitive list of Browser voices online. Let me know if you find one and I will include here.
